About RUYA

Rwenzori United Youth Association (RUYA) is a dynamic youth led association established in 2017. Founded by a group of Youth within the Bukangara Catholic parish in Kasese Diocese, Kasese district, RUYA emerged from a crucial need to enhance opportunities for youth to access essential services and skills, thereby improving their quality of life. Recognizing that approximately 80% of Uganda's population comprises youth, RUYA is dedicated to uniting and empowering this significant demographic to actively support and contribute to national development.

Our vision is to foster A vibrant region where young mothers, youth, and the less privileged thrive with dignity, enjoying reproductive health, economic empowerment, and social justice. To achieve this, our mission is to Empower young mothers, youth, and the less privileged in the Rwenzori region through integrated programs focusing on reproductive health, economic empowerment, advocacy against social injustices, and sustainable development initiatives. RUYA operates across the entire Rwenzori region, including the districts of Kasese, Bundibugyo, Ntoroko, Kabarole, Kyenjojo, and Bunyangabu, and is committed to extending its reach to any future districts within the region. 

To improve the well-being of at least 50% of young mothers, youth, and the less privileged in the Rwenzori region by 2030 through targeted interventions,guided by our motto: "Empowerment for Dignity".
