Our Motto

Empowerment for Dignity.

About Us

Rwenzori United Youth Association (RUYA) is a dynamic, youth-led, community-based organization rooted in the Rwenzori region of Uganda. RUYA is dedicated to fostering the holistic development and empowerment of its community's most vulnerable members. Our core mission is to empower young mothers, youth, and the less privileged through integrated and transformative programs. These programs are strategically focused on key areas, including reproductive health education, economic empowerment initiatives, advocacy against social injustices, and the promotion of sustainable community development.

RUYA emerged from a crucial need to enhance opportunities for youth to access essential services and skills, thereby improving their quality of life. Recognizing that approximately 80% of Uganda's population comprises youth, RUYA is dedicated to uniting and empowering this significant demographic to actively support and contribute to national development. As a grassroots entity, RUYA specializes in culturally relevant, last-mile intervention delivery, ensuring that resources and support reach those who need them most to break cycles of vulnerability.
